Emergency & Disaster Relief
Funds and volunteer relief teams are available through BMA Global to provide emergency assistance and supplies to areas that experience natural disasters or catastrophic events. BMA Disaster Relief provides relief to areas where access to medical care, food, clothing, and other essential necessities of life have been temporarily interrupted or are not readily available. The BMA Disaster Relief Fund has raised thousands of dollars to help victims of various natural disasters throughout the U.S. and the world. The vast majority of these funds go to assist BMA churches, pastors, church planters, and members of BMA churches.
Just The Crumbs Ministry
When disaster strikes, BMA Global partners with BMA Pastor Lavon Haden and his ministry, "Just the Crumbs" to provide relief. “Just the Crumbs” responds to natural disaster needs in the U.S. by providing hot meals prepared for victims and volunteers, supplies and furniture for those in need, and help with the clean-up and rebuilding of homes in these devastated areas.
BMA Disaster Relief with "Just the Crumbs" needs supporters and volunteers to sign up to be contacted when future disasters strike. Teams will include a chainsaw and cleanup team, a cooking and food serving team, and occasionally a medical team through BMMI (Baptist Medical Missions International). Food and lodging will be provided for volunteers at the disaster site, though teams will need to bring a cot along with their personal belongings.
If you would like to volunteer, contact Bro. Mike Angus at 228-669-1108 or Beth at 662-582-6667. You can also give a tax-deductible donation by clicking the "Just the Crumbs" button below or by mail to Just the Crumbs, 10 Wagon Trail, Sumrall, MS 39482.
Lebanon Relief Project
The Lebanon Relief Project is divided into 3 different areas of need:1) Lebanon Love Vouchers: Since March of 2020, the Lebanese Lira has lost more than 12 times its value to the U.S. dollar and that has caused the unemployment rate to skyrocket, and the percentage of Lebanese people under the poverty line to exponentially increase. This economic crisis left lots of people with half or no income while prices rise steeply and quickly. The love vouchers simply serve needy families with sustainable support. These vouchers help in providing some food on the table and essential needs for each family. This part of the project started in March 2020 and is on-going. We give each family around 25$ per month to get their essential needs from a local convenience store. This fund helps around 160 families per month.
2) Beirut Explosion Vouchers: According to statistics, the Beirut port explosion has affected more than 300,000 people, and has cost around 15 billion dollars in damages. Because of the explosion, many people lost their jobs, had to close down their shops or because of injuries couldn’t work anymore. The Beirut explosion vouchers are meant to help families that had been affected by the explosion so that they can buy essentials and food for their families. This part of the project started in August 2020 and is on-going. Your kind donation has helped cover the cost of (on average) 118 vouchers for 4 months between April & July of 2021.
3) Pharmaceutical Needs Fund: Since mid 2021, Lebanon has been dealing with a shortage of medicines. Most people who suffer from chronic diseases cannot find or even afford their medications anymore. This fund is meant to help people (mainly elderly people) get and sustain their medications on a monthly basis. We have around 15 patients that we provide medication for and about 90 medications that we try to buy on a recurrent basis. This part of the project started in April 2020 and is on-going.
