“We need your help!!” That is something that we hear all the time. Normally when we hear it the first thing that comes to mind is that someone wants our money. This time we are not asking for your money. I am conveying a request that was made to me recently on my last trip to Africa. On this trip I was able to visit three countries where the BMAA has a presence: Ghana, Nigeria, and Liberia.

Our journey began in 1990 when we, along with many others, had to flee Liberia due to the outbreak of the fifteen-year civil crisis. As born-again Christians, we felt called to continue our ministry even in the midst of adversity. Residing in Toulepleu, Western Ivory Coast, as refugees, we joined forces with believers from the Baptist community and embarked on soul-winning and evangelism efforts among Liberian refugees in various camps and the Ivorian people in their towns and villages.

The world we are living in today and what we are witnessing shows that our Savior and Lord is coming soon. BMA of Africa in Ghana is making sure that the message of the cross, which is the hope for the lost and dead world, is preached, as it is the will of our Savior that no one should perish but all should come to the saving knowledge of the cross.

Joy. Excitement. Thankfulness.  Those were the sentiments as twenty-five Lifeword representatives from various Central American countries gathered in El Salvador at the end of June. Their purpose was to learn from and encourage one another, celebrate what God has done, and look ahead at Lifeword Latin America. Every Lifeword team member is a firm believer in discipleship, and it is backed up by the fact that each is discipling someone.
