Seven years ago we began to build our jungle houses in the mountains among the Wantakia people of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Before we ever learned their language, created an alphabet for it, or translated any scripture in it, we asked God to show us men and women who were faithful, available, and teachable (F.A.T.).

While being in danger of overstating the obvious, “we do not have to go to all the world because all the world is coming to us!” The first part of the quoted statement is not true if God has called you because the Great Commission commands Jesus followers to go into all the world. The second part of the statement is very true

The fourth value of BMA Global Missions is that we practice indigenous missions principles. The word indigenous simply means that something belongs locally. The ministries that we initiate around the world must be sustainable and reproducible in each of those local contexts. Those ministries will not last, and certainly will not multiply,

Former International Director (and Missionary Care Director) Jerry Kidd established the BMA’s missionary care initiative years ago and has a great love for missionaries and their unique needs while on the field. During his time leading missionary care, he organized regional conferences, which involved a great deal of planning and outside support, but these conferences were so beneficial for our missionaries.
